No. Solar thermal uses sunlight to heat water. Solar PV generates electricity, which can power your home, charge a battery or serve an immersion heater through suitable equipment.
Output varies by season, system design and demand. Most homes still need another heat source, especially in winter.
The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive closed to new applications in March 2022. Existing recipients should check their scheme obligations before changing an eligible system. We do not advertise new RHI payments.
