Information we collect
If you enquire, we collect your name, email address, property postcode, contact preference, any phone number you provide, your selected service, whether you have solar already, your message and any calculator estimate you choose to include. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your enquiry.
Our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request logs and browser information to operate and protect the website.
How we use it
We use enquiry information to respond, discuss your project and prepare any requested quote. This is generally necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract. We also use information where necessary for our legitimate interests in running a secure website, preventing misuse and managing correspondence, or to meet legal obligations.
Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing unless you separately tick the optional email-updates box. You can also sign up using the footer form. We use your consent to send occasional home-energy tips, product updates and offers. We record your email address, the time, source, wording and version of your consent separately from enquiries. Unticked choices do not create a subscription.
Who processes information
The website is designed to be hosted by Vercel. Online enquiries are sent to Sunuser using Resend as the email delivery provider, then handled through our business email system. Enquiry details are also recorded in a restricted Google Sheet for follow-up when this connection is enabled. Where a Cloudflare Turnstile security check is enabled, Cloudflare processes technical information to help distinguish genuine enquiries from automated misuse. These providers may process information outside the UK under their applicable contractual safeguards.
If you use the email link instead, your email application sends your message through your chosen email provider. External links, including directions, take you to services with their own privacy policies.
Cookies and your device
When configured, we use Google Analytics only if you accept analytics. It helps us measure page visits, calculator use, enquiry starts, completed enquiries and clicks on contact and quote links. We do not send your name, email, phone, postcode or enquiry message to Analytics, and advertising personalisation is disabled. If advertising measurement is configured, you can separately choose to allow it. It measures successful enquiries and may use Google Ads cookies. Campaign codes and Google click IDs are attached to your enquiry only with that choice, and are stored in this tab for up to an hour. Google may process analytics information outside the UK. You can reject analytics or withdraw consent using Cookie settings in the footer. Your choice is stored on this device for up to six months; analytics cookies expire after up to six months. The savings calculator runs in your browser. Contact details are not saved to browser local storage. If you choose to use a calculator result in your enquiry, the estimate is stored in this tab for up to an hour. A confirmed enquiry reference is also stored in the tab for up to an hour so we can display your confirmation. A security service, if enabled, may use necessary technical storage for fraud and abuse prevention. Optional advertising measurement is off unless you accept it; rejecting it does not affect your enquiry.
Email updates and unsubscribe
Our restricted subscriber register records current subscription status and consent or withdrawal history. Resend delivers the confirmation link used to verify your email address before you receive marketing. Every marketing email must include your personal unsubscribe link. You can also request withdrawal at solar@sunuser.co.uk. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop replies to enquiries or necessary service correspondence. We keep a minimal suppression record to respect your choice and evidence of consent or withdrawal where reasonably needed to demonstrate compliance.
How long we keep information
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your enquiry, manage an ongoing customer relationship and meet relevant legal, accounting or dispute-handling obligations. Contact us if you want to ask about a particular record or request its deletion.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or transfer your personal information, or object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. Contact us using the details above to make a request.
You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
