Absorber Plate
Tested to 150lb/sq.in., six times greater than its operating pressure, the Sundwel absorber is at the leading edge in design and manufacture.

Manufactured in Switzerland under environmentally friendly conditions, the patented fin and tube gives a greater surface area for the collection of diffuse light and a faster collection of direct sunlight. The Black Chrome selectively coated surface has an absorptivity of 95% with an emmissivity of 12% and carries a 10 year warranty.

Casing
With a slim-line aluminium body, close couple connections and little or no external pipework the overall effect is both impressive and aesthetically pleasing.
Glazing
Glass is the best cover for any collector because unlike plastic it does not deteriorate due to atmospheric pollution, does not scratch easily and is essentially self-cleaning. Sundwel use toughened glass to give that added protection and peace of mind.
Insulation
Insulation behind the absorber plate is very important for retaining precious energy. Sundwel use CFC free Rigid Phenolic Foam which is the best insulator available having a thermal conductivity of just 0.018W/mK. Most other solar collectors use glass wool or Rockwool whose insulation properties are typically half as good.

Connections
Collectors are connected together using a new close couple stainless steel flexible joint manufactured for Sundwel.
Designed to take up expansion of the header pipes, whilst allowing for curvature or defects in the roof, the connector allows fast and simple installation.
